Support for work that moves the community forward.

Our project support policy is built around practical collaboration, clear expectations, and useful outcomes.

A collaborative way to build better projects

We believe hardware support should enable real work. If you are developing an original, useful, or well-considered project that relies on 3D printer components, we would like to hear about it. We can provide selected parts from our store at no cost, and may explore custom development when the right component does not yet exist in our catalog.

Our focus is collaboration, not simple product giveaways. We look for projects with a clear purpose, a thoughtful plan, and a genuine chance to create knowledge, usefulness, or inspiration for others.

Support is considered case by case

We review each proposal for its purpose, technical fit, expected impact, and the resources available at the time. Support is not automatic, but a clear and well-prepared project helps us assess how we can contribute.

Open-source and maker projects

Projects that document their work, share what they learn, or make useful tools more accessible.

Education and research

Hands-on learning, lab prototypes, student teams, and research that benefits from dependable hardware.

Robotics and engineering

Practical builds that push a mechanism, machine, or manufacturing idea from concept into use.

Creators and communities

Thoughtful reviews, build logs, tutorials, and community projects that help others make better.

A straightforward path from idea to collaboration.

We keep the process clear and practical, with each collaboration shaped by the project itself.

  1. 01

    Submit application

Tell us what you are building, why it matters, and what support would be useful.

  2. 02

    Project review

We assess the project's purpose, feasibility, reach, and fit with our capabilities.

  3. 03

    Communication

If there is a fit, we clarify technical requirements, quantities, and timing together.

  4. 04

    Parts preparation

We confirm the support scope and prepare the approved catalog or custom components.

  5. 05

    Shipping

Once ready, parts are packed and dispatched to the agreed project destination.

  6. 06

    Project collaboration

We stay in touch as the work develops and welcome the lessons your project can share.

Project Support Program FAQ

If you are unsure whether your project is a fit, these answers are a useful place to start.

Who can apply?
Makers, open-source maintainers, educators, researchers, engineers, creators, community developers, labs, and teams are all welcome to apply. The strength and purpose of the project matter more than your organisation's size.
Is everything free?
Approved support may include free components, but the exact scope depends on the project and available resources. Shipping, duties, or other practical costs may need to be discussed case by case.
Can I request custom parts?
Yes. If the catalog does not contain what your project needs, describe the requirement and constraints in your application. We will assess whether a custom solution is feasible.
How long does the review take?
We aim to review complete applications promptly. Timing varies with technical complexity and current request volume, so a clear brief and realistic timeline help us respond efficiently.
Can commercial projects apply?
Yes, provided there is a clear and meaningful collaboration opportunity. Please be transparent about the project's stage, audience, and expected use of the requested parts.
